Scouting Many years of intensive experience in British Columbia by the Crosby Marine team means that the company can seek out the perfect location for all shooting needs. Crosby Marine will not only locate the perfect environment for the shoot, but will also provide accurate tide charts, local knowledge of marine weather patterns and correct permits needed for the scenes being filmed. Crosby Marine is fully familiar with dramatically scenic and accessible locations in the region that are popular with film productions. They also have wide expertise of locations that are not so easy to access, but have equally beautiful scenery – sometime more so. They can provide production planners with photos of various locations that may be suitable for a specific shoot. If Crosby Marine doesn’t have the images, scouting services are readily available from the Crosby team.
  Picture Boats
Crosby Marine has used innumerable types of picture boats over the years and have wide-ranging options for productions to choose from. Crosby Marine can supply whatever vessel may be needed by the production from fishing boats to freighters and from speedboats to canoes. Crosby Marine ensures that all operational details associated with the boats are taken care of, so the production will not have to worry about correct insurance, picture boat modifications or call time schedules.
  Stunts
Whether it’s actor/stunt training, or actually performing the stunts, Crosby Marine can handle and/or be involved with every aspect of stunts that take place on water. With the wide-ranging knowledge of Crosby Marine’s safety diver coordinator and marine coordinator, the team will work with the production’s stunt coordinator throughout the stunt to ensure that it’s performed safely and efficiently. Safety is clearly a key concern with stunts and Crosby Marine always has a safety dive team standing by during production work.
  Safety
Crosby Marine considers safety a crucial element in any successful film shoot. There are numerous hazards which may go unnoticed by the general film crew. Crosby Marine works with divers to create a safety protocol specific to marine film work. We have the experience, skills, equipment, and knowledge required to react quickly to rapidly changing risk levels that can arise on set. Our dive team contributes on many levels during a film shoot. Services include continuous risk assessment, crew safety on docks, piers and boats, underwater rigging, SCUBA safety and training for actors and stunt safety for jumps and high falls. Wide experience allows Crosby Marine to anticipate problems well in advance, making prevention the main goal.
  Charts
Crosby Marine will provide the production with both navigational and tide charts. With navigation charts, Crosby Marine will be able to determine what type of background will be in each shot, and where the location will be in relation to shipping channels and other hazards. The aim is to help position film crews at the optimum location, taking into account all possible variables. Crosby Marine also provides tidal charts detailing tide changes each half hour. Productions usually find these tide change charts very informative and attach them to call sheets.
 Wherever the production plans to film, Crosby Marine can provide crew and equipment transport services for anything from a minimal film crew to a full crew/circus unit needing barges or other water transport to remote areas.
