Scouting
Because of the number of years Crosby Marine has been working
in British Columbia, they can bring you to the perfect location
for your shooting needs. Crosby Marine will not only provide the
ideal environment for your shoot, but also provide you with accurate
tide charts, local knowledge of the marine weather patterns, and
proper permits needed for the different scenes being filmed.
Crosby
Marine Services Inc. knows the locally-based locations that are
popular with film productions because of the scenery and accessibility
they offer, and they also know of locations that are not-so-accessible,
but have equally beautiful scenery. They can provide you with photos
of various locations that may be suitable for your shoot, and if
they don’t have the photos, they will scout for them for you.
Wherever
it is you choose to film, Crosby Marine will be able to provide
crew/equipment transport from anything to minimal crew filming to
the full crew/circus being barged/transported to remote areas.

Charts
Crosby Marine Services Inc. will provide your production
with both navigational and tide charts.
With
the navigation charts Crosby Marine will be able to determine what
type of background will be in your shot, and where you will be in
relation to shipping channels/hazards, etc. to help situate the
filming location at the most ideal location given all variables.
Crosby
Marine will also provide tidal charts detailing the tide changes
each half hour; productions usually find these tide change charts
very informative, attaching them to call sheets.
Safety
Crosby Marine considers safety a crucial element for a
successful film shoot. There are many hazards that may go unnoticed
by the general film crew. Crosby Marine works in association with
Reel Divers Inc. and together we have tailored our safety protocol
specific to marine film work. We have the experience, skills, equipment,
and knowledge required to react quickly to the rapidly changing
risk levels that can arise on set. Reel Divers safety team contributes
on many levels during a film shoot: continuous risk assessment,
crew safety on docks, piers and boats, underwater rigging, SCUBA
safety and training for actors, stunt safety for jumps and high
falls. Our experience allows us to anticipate problems well in advance
making prevention our main goal.
